S2M2 has a large range of generic printer cartridges which are compatible with most Epson Printers. We make sure that all of our products are up to date with the latest micro chips so we can guarantee that they will work correctly in your Epson printer. Over the years the Epson company has worked tirelessly to try and combat the non genuine ink market. They have done this by continually updating the firmware on their printers to prevent the non genuine cartridges from being correctly recognised by their printers.
This has definitely worked for Epson and has no doubt increased the sales of their genuine inks however the trade off has been a huge backlash against their printers. Many people stay clear of Epson printers nowadays mainly due to this fact alone so wether it has been worthwhile to the Epson company using these tactics is debatable. Brother has also started to use these tactics on their latest printers and consumers are becoming very frustrated because of this.
Will Generic Inks work in my Epson Printer ?
The answer to this is a definite YES. Despite all of Epson's attempts to combat the non genuine market the wholesalers always bring out an updated generic cartridge which will work perfectly in your printer. All that printer companies achieve by using these tactics is to annoy the end user and to also discredit the reliability of their printers. Surley the consumer has a right to use a cheaper non genuine cartridge without the greedy printer manufacturers jumping up and down.
Providing that you use your printer regularly and correctly non genuine inks will work perfectly in your Epson printer and provide years of trouble free printing. Epson printers by nature tend to be more troublesome than most other printers and because of the piezo style print head they are more prone to clogging if good quality compatible inks are not used. Modern printers are no longer made to a high quality as they were say 5 years ago but to a budget. This in turn has made them a throw away item and at the same time nowhere near as reliable as they were back in the good old days. Dont expect to get 5 years out of a printer anymore as on average a good 2 years of solid printing seems to be all the time they will last. I guess the initial purchase price is so low nowadays that we should expect the modern printer to no longer be a long lasting, high quality piece of equipment.
I bought Generic Inks before and my Epson printer couldnt recognise them
As stated previously Epson are continually updating the firmware on their printers to try and get people to buy their genuine inks. As the firmware updates get rolled out it is up to the compatible ink retailers to keep wind of the changes and make sure that they supply the very latest cartridges which will be compatible with the new firmware.
This is something that we are very aware of and that is why S2M2 only stocks the very latest generic ink cartridges with the latest microchips. By doing so we can assure our customers that our inks will definitely work with their printers.
